What are Reasonable rates for claiming expenses for income year 2020-21?

Reasonable rates are the rates sets out by commissioner for expenses to be claim by the employees. This approach can be used only where an employee receives an allowance to cover the particular expenses like overtime expense, Domestic travel expense, accommodation expense. The reasonable amounts only provide the maximum amount you can claim without being required to substantiate your expenditure.

The reasonable amounts for various expenses are as follows:

• Reasonable amount for overtime meal expenses are $31.95.
• Reasonable amount for domestic travel expenses for employee truck drivers are:
  • For Breakfast- $25.75
  • For Lunch- $29.35
  • For Dinner- $50.65
• Reasonable amount for domestic travel expense for other employees are different on the basis of annual salary, period and time of travel and destinations.
